Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario presents Jeans ‘n Classics, The Music of Woodstock – Absent and Present on May 14 at the London Convention Centre, a show that features those who did and did not show up to perform at the legendary Woodstock Festival in 1969.
The first half of the concert explores the songs and stories of the no-show invitees like Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, and the second half will highlight the rock luminaries actually seen on the Woodstock stage. People like Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Joe Cocker.Whether or not they showed up to the festival itself, this is some of the best music that classic rock has to offer, and will be performed with the Jeans ‘n Classics Rock Symphony.
Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario presents the Jeans ‘n Classics concert series in London to build awareness about Habitat’s programs while raising funds to build affordable housing in the community. The concerts take place at the London Convention Centre and are presented with exceptional sound and lighting, large screens for an enhanced visual experience, table seating and full bar and finger food available at the venue.
More than 60,000 people in our region live in inadequate shelter. To address this, Habitat for Humanity builds modest homes, sells them to low income families who repay an interest free mortgage geared to their income. Habitat ReStores fund operating expenses so that 100% of donations can be used to build homes for families. Our Vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. This presentation is supported by the Carpenters Union Local 1946.
